I've done it, signed up for my first NaNoWriMo!  I even have a story idea.  It's something I have been thinking of writing for some time and I hope I can finish the entire 50,000 words in a month.  Since I first heard about this, I have wanted to try it.

In order to clear my schedule for this marathon event, I intend to wrap up my current story of my Star Trek fan fiction.  I am close to the end of this set of chapters, but right now, it is floundering.  Seriously floundering.  I have two versions of the next chapter, over 700 words each of complete and total garbage.  I can't seem to realize the idea running around in my head.  Maybe in the middle of the night inspiration will strike and I can finish it.  Fingers crossed!

I recently went to a seminar about getting my writing published.  I didn't learn much I didn't already know, but they insisted, "All writer's should have a blog or online journal."

Well, here it is.  Just what I needed, another way to ignore my writing.  Not that my writing is going to make me famous.  Who wants that?

After trying to get stories in the last two Star Trek Strange New Worlds editions, and failing, I decided to try posting to a fan fiction site.  I did, and the response has been tremendous.  Far more positive than I expected.  My hubby likes to say I have "fans."  And I guess that's true.

If you are interested, my stories are all in the realm of Star Trek.  I have one Deep Space Nine story which I thought was freakin' brilliant, but not many other people did.  I post on under the name (oddly) MavFan

I have two other stories, all in Star Trek Voyager.  One is about young Icheb while at the Academy, and he has a visitor, Q Junior.

My other story (although it is in two sections) is about Icheb and Naomi Wildman, after they have grown up and are posted to the same starship and they begin a romantic relationship.  Weird, isn't it?

Well, this is my inaugural entry.  I hope I'll keep up this journal.
