Yesterday (Saturday 9 February 2008) our precinct caucuses were held.  I was thrilled to see, there were far more people from our district than for the last presidential caucus in 2004.  It seems people are charged up for this race, and I am thrilled to see it!  The democratic process is so important to our nation, and I still don't understand people who don't participate, but that's just me.

Anyway, after we caucused for a couple of hours, we had our final tallies and the number of delegates and alternates for the county convention were determined.  We again assembled according to our candidate, for whom we were alloted three delegates.  They asked for volunteers, and exactly three of us volunteered!  It was perfect, and I must say, one of our delegates was a young woman having her first caucus experience!!
When they asked for alternates, again, exactly three people volunteered, including the hubby.  I am most likely, not going to make it past the county level as a delegate, because at that point everyone is really motivated, but maybe I will (fingers crossed).

I took some pictures of the caucus area, no people or names, for privacy, but I thought maybe some of people outside the US might like to see what some of the accessories related to a caucus look like!

The sign outside!

The map of our precinct.

The schedule.

For the newbies who could then only observe.  We had two in our precinct.

The final numbers!

I hope you enjoyed!
