I know I heard it. The sound is unmistakable, there is an eagle in the neighborhood!! It is quite early for them, they usually don't arrive until late November. Since there is no other sound which can be confused for eagle calls, I know it is there. I just can't see it. The trees have far too many leaves on them for optimal eagle spotting. They should be empty before you can easily see an eagle, or any other bird for that matter.
I have become obsessed with getting a really good eagle picture. The last few years I've been doing the best I can with the digital camera, and some of the pictures aren't too bad, but you can just barely see the eagles.
This year, I will be ready. I have all new 35mm gear and my father in law loaned me a 85-300mm zoom lens as well as a 2x multiplier. I should be able to get far better pictures this year. At least once the leaves are all off the trees.
Hearing the eagle call today has sparked my yearly mania! Must get eagle picture! Now, what can I do to denude the trees of leaves?
Unfortunately, I'll just have to be patient, something at which I am terrible!
