Yesterday, I went into town to pick up our now almost weekly tradition of having Indian takeaway food on Saturday.  Well, the restaurant is next to a Circuit City, and my order wasn't quite ready when I got there.  Sooo, I went over to Circuit City to while away the time in the digital camera section.  Now, I've been thinking off and on about a digital SLR, but really, I love the results I get with my 35mm, so I think an SLR would be redundant.  However, I have been rather unhappy with the shutter lag on my Canon Powershot A560, don't get me wrong, I like the camera, but sometimes it drives me batty.  Anyway, when the child, sorry, I mean young man came over and offered to help, I decided, what the heck, let's see if he has any opinions.  They did not have the exact model of my camera but one very similar.  I showed him what I was on about and he showed me a camera which is, in his opinion, the best point and shoot.  Well, I took pictures with it, and a lower priced one by the same company, and there was no comparison.  I also took photos with many other brand cameras as well.  The camera I was looking at has a 10x OPTICAL zoom, which is amazing, and the shutter lag is hardly noticeable at all.

My big problem was, I already have a digital point and shoot, and I got it less than a year ago.  Logically, I couldn't rationalize purchasing another digital camera.  Well, I went home, told the hubby about it, tossed and turned, compared prices and well, you know what I had to do.  That's right, I just ordered the new camera.  The hubby did say a few days ago he wished we had a digital camera that he could use when I'm not around or still sleeping, so now I think he can have my Canon!  Now all I have to do is wait for my new toy.
